International leaders in the EU are committed to the female entrepreneurship
More than 90 international leaders, 500 women entrepreneurs, policies, and entrepreneurs gathered at the Women Entrepreneurs Forum, Washington, D. C. – WEF DC, which served to inspire, connect to the participants and to generate specific opportunities for business.
- A very positive balance for all participants, those who had the opportunity of meeting such figures as the General Manager of the inter-American development Bank, Irene Arias, and the vice-president for Europe and Latin america of the International finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, Alfonso Garcia Mora.
- As a result of participation in the WEF and in the trade mission participants were able to formalize partnerships to the benefit of the entities and regions they represent. This is the case of Gally Mayer, co-Founder of Good Life Organic Coffee, who was very interested in building partnerships and opportunities for women in the industry of coffee, nothing better than to kiss the ground and the land of our peasants .
Washington became for three days at the headquarters of female entrepreneurship, sustainable, responsible and innovative thanks to the foundation of the colombian MET Community and Latin American Leadership Program at Georgetown University who conducted the Women Entrepreneurs Forum, Washington, D. C. – WEF DC, an event that brought together more than 90 international leaders with more than 2,500 entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and managers of businesses throughout Latin America who had the opportunity to participate in a face-to-face and online.
WEF DC is a platform for collaboration, motivation, generation of business opportunities and personal growth that connects to recognized leaders and women leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss relevant topics and inspiring.
During the event, personalities, international reference in the field of entrepreneurship as a Yanire Braña, CEO of MET Community; the Ambassador Nestor Mendez, Deputy Secretary General of the OAS; Irene Arias, CEO of IDB LAb, and Alfonso Garcia Mora, vice president of IFC for Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean covered topics such as the global challenges including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, gender, inclusion, climate change and the importance of female leadership.
The topics discussed at the event included the global challenges and current needs and short-term in the global economy; investment opportunities in innovative and sustainable; economy; collaborative; mentality and orientation of entrepreneurship; gender, inclusion and climate change; business, government and finance; development opportunities in entrepreneur; in addition, the inspiring stories of leaders of the first level.
The last day was a session of speed mentoring and networking in which all the attendees had the opportunity to meet and connect with the mentors of the Foundation MET, entrepreneurs with a successful track record in the united States and Europe committed to the female entrepreneurship.
“The first edition of WEF in DC has been a before and an after for our entity. The mentors and the participants had the opportunity to meet and connect with leaders and experts from around the world. A unique experience that has opened up new partnerships and projects that will be undertaken in the coming months,” says Yanire Braña, President of MET Community.
Nawal Al-Hosany, from the Government of the United Arab Emirates, noted for his part that “it is important to work around the themes of gender and inclusion and to mitigate the effects of climate change.”
Alejandra Mora Mora executive secretariat of the CIM / OAS, the first intergovernmental body established to ensure the recognition of the human rights of women, stressed the importance of these initiatives is that they allow that “let's Work together for new social pacts more equitable, fair and inclusive”, emphasizing the power of partnerships.
In this regard, according to Ricardo Ernst, director general of the Latin American Board of Georgetown University “it is essential to create spaces of dialogue and cooperation through events and programs such as the WEF DC that promote action and innovation with a view to reducing gender gaps”.
