More than sixty girls and teachers participated in the second edition of CampaMET.

According to the UN report released last year, less than 30% of mexican women to graduate in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, construction, and information and communication technologies. That is why it is born CampaMET, a program of online training robotics aimed at teachers and girls high school students through training workshops in the area of technologies and robotics.

The goal is to empower girls and mexican women in the STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), through training workshops in robotics supplemented with other panels and awareness-raising activities and visibility.

In this second edition was attended by more than 60 girls and female teachers of the State of Mexico, Coahuila, Monterrey, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, who received a total of 30 hours of training, as well as all the materials, licenses in the STEM Academy Latin america, and unlimited access to the online platform of VEXCode.

The content of the program covered the basics of programming in robotics virtual VexCodeVR from the interface, blocks, development of algorithms and detector of movement and obstacles.

The duration of CampaMET consists of six workshops of 3 hours each over a period of two weeks.

At the end of the program all participants demonstrated that they were capable of programming a robot VEX Virtual. To do this they used a simple language and in blocks-based programming environment used to create robots physical.

This second edition of the program CampaMET has been possible thanks to our ally MAGNA and its great commitment to continue to promote female leadership in the areas of STEM.More information: https://metcommunity.org/mexico/campamet/
