Grupo Bancolombia and Foundation MET Community reaffirm their commitment to female entrepreneurship in Latin America.
“CaféMET attracted nearly 2000 women from Colombia, El Salvador and Panama to commemorate the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs”.
The Foundation MET Community, in partnership with Grupo Bancolombia, launched the space “CaféMET: Women, Entrepreneurship, and Talent,” to highlight the role of women entrepreneurs as drivers of the economy and social well-being of the region. The celebration of the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs featured five women leaders and leaders of the exception: as panelists, entrepreneurs Laura Velasquezpresident of Arkangel AI (Colombia), Sonia Montenegrodirector of Hardware monte cristo (El Salvador) and Celia Esquivel, leader of Prefalego (Panama); in the opening, Yanire Braña, chairwoman of the MET Community, and moderated the panel, Maria Isabel Acosta, the director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) of Bancolombia.
The three panelists discussed the main motivations and challenges of running a business and shared with the audience the key recommendations to develop a venture that is sustainable, responsible and innovative. The inspiring testimonies of these three entrepreneurs referents of Latin america affected more than 1700 participants in your online transmission and over 235 by Zoom. Their experiences in sectors that are traditionally male-dominated were of high value; they invited the attendees to the reflection and recognized the key role that women play in any professional field, and labour, as motivate other women to partake in them with courage and perseverance. This was evidenced in the testimony of Maria Isabel Acosta: "I believe in the value and power of female leadership; a leadership that claimed the empathy, reflection, and collaboration".
